Back in 1993, when I knew my husband only as a person I debated with over the computer, I was strongly against firearms of any kind. It made perfect sense to me that to end gun violence, we had to get rid of all the guns. This drove everyone on that Bulletin Board system insane. They argued with me on every level..personal safety to constitutional rights. I didn't understand. It wasn't until I met my husband, and shot a gun for the first time, that it started to sink in. This was a tool, like any other tool.

Slowly I came to understand how having this right kept our government and military in check, and it just made me feel safer having a gun in the house. I didn't worry about my children, because I took all the precautionary measures to make sure they didn't have access to them.

I've changed my opinions over the years on other issues too, like abortion and what constitutes good government programs. I changed my mind about the severity of y2k on a daily basis. (that was a tough one..wasn't it?)

Ever change your mind on an issue? What was your reasoning then, and what is your reasoning now? What made you change it?

I remember when I realized what a sheeple I had been all my life. How I never saw the spin on tv news, or paid attention to my government, or cared about what was goign on in the rest of the world. I remember feeling really weird for a few days. My mother can back me up on this one,...I was really weirded out. Like I had moved from one plane of exsistance to another. Like I was moving around outside of the rest of the world. I wish I had heard a POP...then I could have had something to blame it on!!
