I saw your response to cycle time below, but I was really hoping for something a little more definitive than what you gave. I realize there will be differences between pre production and production, but can't you elaborate a little on the cycle time? I, too am worried about this. How many shot-to-shot pictures will we be able to capture (not in continous mode, and at highest res. and lowest jpg compression)before we experience the long delay? Are we talking about 1 - 2, or 3 or 4, or what? My reason for excluding continous mode is due to the fact that you can't use the flash in continous.

Also, this might not belong to you, but is anyone actually manufacturing lithium AA batteries that can be used with the Nikon 990? Perhaps you know of a manufacturer you are in the process of testing?? (me being hopeful).

I want to also say THANK YOU for coming here and answering all these questions!!

Sorry-misunderstood- You can take up to 12 shots in cycle.

I cannot confim-but you might be able to use an external flash in continuous (with a seperate power supply).

Energizer (aka Eveready) manufactures excellent Lithium AA batteries- but they are not rechargeable. They do live up to their billing of up to 5x longer lasting in Digital Cameras than regular alkalines....
