I was able to set the serial port speed on my PIII to over 900k, but the NIKON 950 and supplied software only go to 115k. Is there any chance of an update so I can upload my images 8 times faster than I do now?

Just a suggestion, I think you could do a lot better to buy a Compact Flash reader for your computer instead of trying to use the serial port. That way you could transfer via USB even though the 950 doesn't have it.
