For that matter, what do you want to know about people who write online journals? Are you interested in a person's daily routine - job, hobbies, etc., or are you curious about the deeper things - philosophy, religion, relationships, political views?

The first things I want to know about when meeting someone are: religious beliefs or lack thereof, political views, and creative pursuits, closely followed by career and relationship stuff. But I'm curious about pretty much everything, really - whether or not they like to read, and what kinds of books. Favorite movies and music. Routines, pets, all of it. And in journals, I like to read about the full range of their moods and interests.

So what are your priorities in getting to know someone, or reading someone's online journal?

i really like getting to know someone's core beliefs i guess. i like to know if that person beliefs in objective truth, or subjectivity. i like to know what that person considers a good friend to be. i like to know what the person feels about things like civil behavior, artistic interests... political agendas, what the person reads (if anything)... a person's experiences, because ultimately that helps shape (in my opinion) all the aforementioned qualities.
