On a Coolpix 800, after you've loaded the images into the computer, is it best to re-format the memory card or delete the images? Deleting all images sometimes leaves less free space on the card than re-formatting.

I think you answered your own question. Delete when you need to and re-format when you want to start a new series of pictures.
