Answers

This should be simply said. My favorite story has been unfolding before my eyes since I became first aware. Most other stories give me a means to compare. But what story can fascinate more than one's own. Working, marrying, having and raising children, spoiling grandchildren. The peace between me and Heather, the gentle understanding between us does not require cutting to the chase. Some where some time the story shall end and I will hope it was well told and the adieus peaceful.

In short story format, my favorite of the last few years is "The Martian Child," by David Gerrold, which combines fact with fantasy in creating the circumstances around the adoption of his child (David did, in fact, adopt a child 8 years ago, and much of the story is true. Whether or not "Dennis" is really a Martian, however, is still open to speculation.)
