Here's the map and course from the Mens Elite Serien this past Saturday in Falun. A course analysis at the Alternativet site is supposed to follow later this week. The terrain is just like French Creek, but different.

Another interesting Swedish O' page with some maps is:http://www.stockholmcitycup.a.se/
The Stockholm City Cup is a series of "park orienteering" races going on in Stockholm during May. After each race, they post the winner's routes on the web page. (To find the maps, go to one of the "Ettaps" and look for the word "Kartan" or "kartor"). If you poke around enough, you might even discover that famous-American-orienteer Carl Fey is running these races.
It is interesting how popular these races are. Tonight's race had about 600 participants. The organizers are starting runners at 15 second intervals in order to start all the entrants within a reasonable time frame.

The routes for the top three runners at the last "Elite Series" are now out. The analysis is all in Swedish. But, it is still interesting to see the routes. Take a look at:http://www.alternativet.nu/elitserien/efter_analyser.asp

Suppose one wanted to become a big dawg. How might one go about accomplishing such a task? Is it enough to live at high altitude and eat corn mush, or must one spend some time running on maps?

I think anyone truly aiming for "big dawg" status ought to refer back to the "heavy user" topic. Corn mush alone won't get it done. It needs to be supplemented with some Big Mac binging, with supersized fries. And don't neglect the chalupas!
