Okay, I never really did get this part - what was wrong with the lady Elizabeth had to operate on, the one that had been Abby's patient? Did she have an ovarian cyst that burst? It went by so fast, I didn't get what was really wrong with her.

I was trying to figure out the same thing. Dave did mention an ovarian cyst, but I didn't hear whether Abby confirmed it. She said *something* about fluid surrounding the ovary (sounds like a cyst to me), and I thought I heard the word "granulated" just before Dave said, "I wouldn't recognize it if it bit me on the ass."

That lady had tuboovarian abscess which has ruptured when she went to have a smoke. Abby treated her as PID (uncomplicated), ruled out pregnancy (negative urine test). She might have done U/S to rule out TO abscess as well. Sexual History is noncontributing (only one partner for the last one year)-nontheless, she might have gotten some bug from her partner. No previous infections, ectopic pregnancies....Take it easy
