I am not familiar with the Epson 3000z but I bought a Sony DSC-S70 a week ago and it is a really, really good camera. It takes extremely sharp, very well exposed photos, has very good auto-control, enough manual adjustment capability to satisfy most people, and, although this was the last thing I was interested in when I bought it, the MPEG video is quite good. It is not built for someone who needs minimum lag times between exposures for multiple action shots, etc., but it is great for producing beautiful photographs. If you can't tell by now, let me specifically say that I think this is a great camera.Wayne
