helen, you are ignorant beyond belief...

People, please don't get rid of a cat because it sprays, you spray the spot with Febreeze and get rid of helen!

Helen is definately not a cat person, but I believe her remark was said tongue in cheek. (though, maybe not...tough call) In any case, Sheeple would never get rid of her cat just because it was spraying. That would be akin to getting rid of a baby because it made a smelly poop.

(sorry..just wouldn't be an FRLian reply without the word poop in it somewhere)

I smell some poop, but it sure ain't helen!

Laura, it was a joke. It's my schtick. Everyone here knows that. My own beloved Salem cat crawled up in my engine. I won't have another cat. It was awful.

Laura, while we're talking, I kept trying to reach you in chat to tell you a story. We missed each other several times...

Grace goat had a set of twins on Ash Wednesday. The boy was strong and healthy, but the girl was lying in a puddle of cold snot when I found her. She was crippled. Her ears had no ligaments to hold them up. Her back legs were turned in strange directions and her hips were not lined up correctly on her spine. Grace ignored her in favor of the healthy boy.

The kids were crying over the poor baby. I thought maybe Grace knew more about it than we did and she was doing the right thing...but...we picked her up, dried her off, brought her in the house, warmed her up, and bottle fed her.

The kids were insistent that we save the girl. I was afraid of the death I saw looming on the horizon. I told them to give her the very best name they could come up with, that all this baby had going for her was a good name. The rest of her was a mixed up mess of joints and bones in the wrong places.

The boy was walking within an hour of birth. The girl didn't walk for days, and when she did we couldn't believe it. She fell every step, then every other step, then every few steps. Her legs were still crooked, but they were starting to work. We held her up to Grace to nurse, and after a day or two, Grace decided to help her.

She's still tiny. She isn't growing well. She can run after a fashion, and we've seen her try to make leaps with the other baby goats. We've decided that we should never breed her. I don't think her little hips will carry the weight of babies. She's the delight of all the kids. We have to carry her when she's tired, but it's an honor.

The kids are convinced the good name they gave her made the difference. They named her Laura.

Helen, I'm so sorry! I OBVIOUSLY don't know you very well. After I read your last post I could picture that little goat in my mind with her little hind legs, and my heart just melted. You've earned my respect lady; anybody who loves animals enough to live through the kind of pain you must go through with as many animals as you have must be one hellofa nice woman. Please forgive me Helen. Please forgive me and realize I'm just a crazy woman loose on the 'net with too much computer and not enough sense :o)

Laura, I don't think you're crazy. I think you say things that upset people, and lord knows people say things to upset you. This board is one place where those things don't have to happen.

I'll see if I can get someone to post a picture of Laura goat.

If you email it to me, I'll put it up on this thread. I want to see little Laura goat too now! Poor thing..! All creatures great and small...you can always point to that goat now when your children complain something is "too hard" to do.

I would LOVE to see the goat! Thanks, Helen. (She doesn't look so pitiful she's going to break my heart and make me want to come get her, does she? [g] Actually, I'm sure that she's precisely where she belongs. I'm sure that your family loves her and can care for her FAR better than I can. I live in an apartment! :o)

I'll check back later this afternoon, Helen. I have a battle going on over at the "uncensored" TB.

See you later!

(BTW, thanks for understanding.)

Kritter, it'll be a few days at best. Got a lot going on right now.

Laura, the danger in having a frail namesake is that it could die...our Laura is still very frail. If she passes away, do you want to know? Would you prefer to not know? The vet is a good fellow, very caring and competent, and he has no idea what her life expectancy is. Her life consists of eating, sleeping, and playing whenever she feels like it. She has free run of the whole place. Her mother, Grace, was in pretty bad shape when she came to live here, and she's doing well now. We gave her the best name we could think of, and maybe that did the trick with her too.

Helen, thanks for asking...No, I don't want to know. Whenever any animal is sick, or it dies, it makes me feel bad. If I see a picture of it I feel a stronger connection to it (that's why kritter's cat prompted a response from me) and I feel worse.

Please, go ahead and get your work done and don't worry about me. I'm just going to back out of this forum if you don't post a response so that you all can get on with your lives. It's been nice talking to you though. Take care and tell your kids to give your little goat a hug for me :o)

Laura, we're scanner impaired so the picture will take a bit of time. I think I can get it scanned at a place in town, then email it to Kritter. It'll take a couple of days or more.

I'm going to say this -- hide your eyes...

I think you should unbookmark the uncensored forum and stay out of there for a while. If you aren't the one spamming Diane's board, then someone else is trying to make it look like you did. This isn't good for you to be fighting all the time with people who won't believe your side anyway. You may feel like you can take the abuse -- but why take it? Being abused, no matter how tough anyone is, being abused is bad. Your time and energy spent trying to defend yourself from anonymous attackers could be better spent doing something good for you. If you're getting all that stuff in your mail box, then turn that off. Blow it off for a while. It isn't good. Life is too fragile and too short to waste time duking it out constantly. ( Your local food bank would give the red carpet treatment to a volunteer with your energy.)

There, my two cents.
