black &white filters

i have kokin orange, blue &sepia filters. i want to know about filter factor &how does it affect the aperture i also want to know about the effect these filters create in b&w &coloured photographs

WHICH ORANGE FILTER? iT MAKES A DIFFERENCE. iF THE NORMAL ORANGE FILTER IT WILL DARKEN BLUE AND GREEN SOMEWHAT AND LIGHTEN ORANGE AND YELLOWS. bLUE WILL DARKEN REN-ORANGE-GREEN AND LIGHTEN BLUE. sEPIA WILL BE USED IN COLOR FILM. jAMES

James was not yelling at all as indicated by the lowercase letter where he thought he was putting capaitals... He just doesn't look at the screen while typing! hehe!

The filter factors for Cokin filters are indicated on the plastic boxes in which the filters are bought. The orange one (I believe it's #003) has a filter factor of +1 f-stop (or x2 for the time).

I don't know about the blue and sepia filters, but I wouldn't use a sepia filter for b&w anyway.
