While working in the garden today, (a very sunny day), I thought of a funny story that my Dad likes to tell. One of Dad's highschool English teachers, (he was British BTW), was standing by the gym door when Dad and his friend walked out and overheard Dad exclaim, 'Boy, I'm sweating!' The teacher walked over and said, 'Flewelling,(he called the students by their last names), horses sweat...men perspire....and women glow.'

It is beautiful here in north Alabama here today too but I've been stuck in front of this computer writing articles most of the day. Hubby has checked on the bunnies and so far no more Angoras have died so maybe the one yesterday was just a fluke!

I have to go feed animals now so I will be "glowing" shortly!!!

It's genetic! I guess living in the north helps too. But it has to be hotter than a 2-******** billy goat for me to "sweat". And when I do, it doesn't seem to go "sour" for quite some time. A shower is all it takes, sometimes hours later. I have never used an anti- perspirant or deodorant in my life, save a short while in high-school when I thought it was "the thing to do"! No silly jokes, please! Anybody else with my genetic blessing out there? (Come on - admit it if you have it!) Brad the Flower! (Careful, cynics!)

Abigail, I was glowing today & my poision ivy is itching! I picked up our shelty(dog) the other night to bring her inside--she must have been in the poision ivy--because where ever she touched me--I'm broke out! I had on a low cut top--& yes poision ivy there, too! My hubby asked, if we had been rolling in the grass & he forgot(as we are at the age, we have senior moments). I told him, if we had been --he would remember, cause we would probably still be there, like two beached whales! ha! I'm useing "itch-nitch" an herbal spray--but it is spreading! Any suggestions???? Sonda, my sister says to try Fels Naptha soap for the poison ivy -- look in the laundry section. She says her husband has used it with success, and Grandma was the one who told them about it, she's used it for years. Also, for the rash, make a comfrey poultice and apply to the raw area. (Boil the comfrey, cool, then apply with a cloth over it. It needs to stay on for a while.)

I've learned that if you cut your finger nails, then you wont be tempted to irratate the blisters and rash more.also if you take a bath with 1 tablespoon of bleach in the water the posion ivy go away in no time.

As children we grew up in the woods on the farm and posion ivy was to be a problem all summer. The best way was to go down and swim in the alantic ocean for the day. The rash and bumps would all go away and not come back, it worked good untill we caught it again. Wayne M.
