I have installed SQL Server 7.0 in the same box as SQL Server 6.5. I used 'Uninstall 6.x installation' in the Switch Menu to uninstall SQL Server 6.5 ver. The message pops up saying it has successfully uninstalled and asked for the reboot. After rebooting, I checked the SQL 6.5 Dir which is still intact. Do you know why the uninstall program does not delete SQL 6.5 dir?

It doesn't seem that other people have this problem. Check on how much space is being used by the 6.5 directory. If it is a very large amount, you could contact Microsoft Product Support Services to get advice, but it will cost about $250 for the advice. It might be most reasonable to just write off the disk space.

According to BOL, when I use SQL 6.5 setup program to uninstall SQL 6.5, I was poped up with the message 'you have to first uninstall SQL 7.0'.

Which is the best\right way to uninstall SQL 6.5?
