Another Contamination Scare
As Walkerton, Ontario deals with the most deadly E-coli outbreak in Canadian history, a precautionary water quality advisory has been issued for residents of Salmon Arm, B.C. After a power failure Saturday morning, and due to heavy rainfall, there is a possibility the town's water source is contaminated. There is no known mpact yet. The water is being treated with chlorine, but the local health unit is warning residents to be conservative with the water. Residents are being advised to boil drinking water for at least two minutes. Extensive testing and sampling are underway, and results are expected Monday afternoon.
