I am working on a book about the Gainesville Midland RR. I have a fair representation of most of the locomotives used on the line except for the 4-8-0 Mastadon types that were from the B&P RR. Also need photos of the passenger cars used on the GM until the mid 50's. Part of this proposed book will be on the Gainesville Northwestern RR. Any photos or text info on this RR or the lumber mill operation in Helen, Ga. would be greatly appreciated. Hugh, I have two photos or three of Gainesville & Northwestern locomotives. One is of an ex-G&SI engine. The other is either a GC&L or SI&E photo.
