Slow Down That Bandwagon, Let Me On!greenspun.com : LUSENET : Hedgehog Talk : One Thread |
I cannot believe that I am doing this, I really can't. I tried being a regular on Beth's forum for awhile, but was overwhelmed by the volume, it has never occurred to me to have my own forum for cryin' in the beer! But I had this dream, and in my dream it was really fun...So, what the fuck, right?
-- Kymm Zuckert (hedgehog@hedgehog.net), May 31, 2000
Congrats Anita for being the first poster! A brass band is in order. Do you really think high volume? I'm not so sure, me, I think that people have their homes, their forum homes, and why go elsewhere? But maybe I'll be wrong, who knows?
-- Kymm Zuckert (hedgehog@hedgehog.net), May 31, 2000.
Thanks for the kind words, and though I don't think that I would want a forum as popular as Beth or Pamie's (don't throw me into that briar patch!), it would be nice if it wasn't a ghosttown.

Alright, why do my answers not thread? Why do they appear above everyone else's? Is it because I'm on the east coast?
-- Kymm Zuckert (hedgehog@hedgehog.net), May 31, 2000.
and I get to be the first respondent!I predict high volume here also. what *will* you do, Kymm?
Anita of Anita's BOD and Anita's LOL

forums are like journals... they're just addicting :) Besides, you have a pretty large readership, I'm sure you're forum will be a happening place :)
-- windy (windmistress@sprintmail.com), May 31, 2000.
woohoo! It's a forum frenzy! Yer so famous, yer forum will be BIG!
-- Ann (midgeworld@hotmail.com), June 01, 2000.
And the scary thing is, yours will probably be more successfull than anyone elses, because you're Kymm and they're not..
-- Kara Leah (tinky@jestercourt.com), June 01, 2000.
I was just wondering the other day when you were going to get yourself a forum happening! You must be reading minds.
-- Kay (kayoz@crosswinds.net), June 01, 2000.
What's this, one has to read Journal-L to find out all the news??
Last I saw, you were wondering whether it was a good idea, and then suddenly "six hours ago" you started your forum!
Very unfair. (grumble, grumble)
Anyway, don't count on me to push up the volume: I like to read (some) forums, but I'm not big on participating. Just like mailing lists. Just like, well, a lot of things.
Anyway, I for one am glad to see you do this. It should make for more fun procrastination!

Kymm, you have to use a different email address than your main one that you registered with greenspun...it puts your answers to the top of the forum, otherwise. I use my work email addy to answer things in my own forum, for instance, or you can create a hotmail or yahoomail acount. Just a FYI.I kind of like my forum. It's small, and fairly easy to manage. The big ones all erupt into flame wars sooner or later. (However, in my latest question, I asked which journallers---of those who put up their pictures---remind you of someone else, a la SPY magazine's old "seperated at birth" section, and I'm expecting some interesting answers to that one. Katie of MISS MERMAID has already found Dave Van's twin...)
Al of NOVA NOTES.
-- Al Schroeder (al.schroeder@nashville.com), June 01, 2000.
Aha! Thanks for the tip, Al! I am so obsessive compusive, that the answers being not in the right ORDER was very upsetting!
-- Kymm (kymmz1@yahoo.com), June 01, 2000.
If you build it, they will come. . . and take heart, Kymm! Your forum is already more popular than mine, and mine's been up for two weeks now! :)Ah, such are the priviledges of journalling royalty.
-- Saundra (scrnwrtr1@home.com), June 01, 2000.
God dammit, people! I just answered the leadership question, thinking i was the very FIRST person to post on this damned board, and now I find oh, no....that damned ANITA is the first, and all hail ANITA, and ANITA is the best. This sucks. Dammnit!
-- Kristin Thomas (kristin@sperare.com), June 01, 2000.
O, but you were the first person to answer a REAL question, as opposed to a "Hi, um, I'm here!" post!
-- Kymm (kymmz1@yahoo.com), June 01, 2000.
Hey Kymm!I learned something very important reading your forem! I wanted to know how to fix that ordering thing too, and now I'm full of knowledge.
But Beth's forem taught us all about tampons :)
Can this be the silly forem?
-- Colleen (triggirl@yahoo.com), June 01, 2000.
Lord knows I have no problem with that, silliness is my middle name! Well, if you pronnounce M-A-R-Y J-O-A-N like "silliness".
