Hi guys, what does the fascinating name "Aeon Flux" actually mean? And how do you get the "A" and the "e" to stick together?

Err. Nobody knows. I guess if you went by the dictionary it means incalculably long periods of time flowing together or something. Gah. All I know is the series title wasn't originally supposed to be the name of that leather-clad female protagonist in the LTV clips.

You get the F by holding ALT, typing 1 4 6 on the number pad and releasing ALT.

I've said it before, and I'll say it again: Aeon Flux = changing beliefs. Others have suggested that "Aeon" refers not to time, but to the Gnostic intermediaries between men & gods, and I believe they're right. Otherwise, why is there a Demiurge? And it makes a whole lot more sense. Look at War where there is a new "Aeon", that is, a new hero, every minute. And our beliefs are shaken. In the case of the character "Aeon Flux", I'd say Flux refers to the fact that she "takes no sides", or to be more accurate, is always switching sides. Trevor asks "who will save me" in Ether Drift Theory, well who will save him? Will it be Aeon? I like to think that we're never quite sure...

Actually I heard that it has more to do with how it sounds, psychology of linguistics/phonetics etc... may be Aeon Flux was used just because it best represented the overall feeling/image of the show?

And for some it means to put on a new aspect of your personality, to 'become' another side of yourself. Even to the point where you adopt the name itself, and include the persona of the original owner of the name, like a birth. Happy birthday, Aeonfluxfan, hope this 'dimension' doesn't get too out of hand, ha ha!

real quick answer.

Aeons are the arbiters between morals and gods in Gnostic belief. They are esentially demigods below the demiurge.

Aeons can also be long periods of time (1000 years)

Flux is a change. Like the flux of a magnetic field through a surface.

I'd say it's a combination of both... I find throughout the series that things can both look good/sound good/whatever and mean something. One of my favorite aspects of the show.
