Ok, so I did it. I bought an ibook last night.I'm in love with it.
Do you have one? Please advise, providing tricks, tips and whatevah else. It's not my first Mac, but it is my first laptop. I can't wait to take it on an airplane and look like a badass.
Oh, it's blue.

Allison, You mean, it's blueBERRY. It's more than blue. Congrats!

Ok, Jeff is the only one who is going to show me love on this? You bastards.
I need stories of how you personally use your iBook to get friends and influence people. Do I put it in a carrying case or just stroll around using the built-in handle and act all - "Why, yes. I am the shit."
And y'all need to tell me what to put on it. I didn't buy extra memory so, I am afraid if I try to open Quark and Photoshop at the same time say, while traveling via airplane, that my computer will crash and cause the plane to crash as well.
I stare at the thing and am hypnotized by its beauty.

Mine's tangerine. I love it too. No real laptop-specific tips, just have fun with it!And for the record, I don't carry mine around out of a case... too easy for someone to just run past you and grab it...
But damn, it looks sexy don't it? haha :)

I may have an iMac, but I am, sadly, sans iBook. Which is probably why, while travelling, I will go up to anyone carrying an iBook (almost always by the handle) and interrogate them as to it's travelworthiness, it's general hardiness, their love for it, yadda yadda yadda. Nothing but thumbs up all around. However, with the things I like to do, and because the screens are too small, I'd probably save until I could get one of those sleek, sexy, G3 laptops. Oooooooooooooo. HOT!
Still - the iBooks are supercool. I am, in fact, stupendously jealous. Positively apple-green with envy.

Allison~I am so jealous of you right now. I just found out that my stupid Gateway (bought and paid for by yours truly, just before I started college last year b/c my 'rents couldn't afford to do it) is sick. Majorly sick. Like, I have lost everything that I had saved on there, every document, every THING. And I have been hankering for an iBook since they came out. I want a tangerine one. Sigh. Have a good type for me, would ya?

Lottsa love from me to you. I have the "special edition" graphite iBook. It is so cool. I don't get out too much (I have twin baby girls), but I have been known to hold my other baby by the handle and gaze into the full-length mirror at my total geekositude.
And mine is "custom". Remeber a long-ago Squishy when pamie mentioned that she wanted an iBook and she would cover it with Badtz-Maru stickers? I had the biggest laugh because I had told my husband several days before that I wanted to do just that very thing. And now my iBook is customized with Badtz Maru stickers, Badtz wallpaper, and is actually *named* Badtz. So sad and pathetic. I need professional help.

Hmm I dunno, I have one mac. It's kind of old skool, it's a Power Mac 7500. It was soo the killer computer on the block when I bought it. Then a few months ago I threw caution to the wind and made up my mind to buy a laptop.Nope, I didn't get the ibook. I got a sony viao instead, Before you boo me I am running Linux. =) So I'm not support that facist Bill Gates.
Maybe for my next laptop I'll get an ibook, but I want it in green damn it!

I have a tangerine one thru work and I love love love it. If only it were really mine... sigh. But I do get to take it on a plane next week, and I'm excited about that. Although I do think for airport treks it shall ride in a bag. But whenever I take it home, I carry it it via handle. I mean, how cool IS that?

The iBooks weren't powerful enough for me, lacked my screen res of choice (1024x768), had too small a keyboard and no DVD.So, I am now the proud owner of a PowerBook 400 mhz DVD beast of a machine.
Oh yes. Apple so totally owns me.

As a Computer Science major, I created quite a stir choosing a macintosh. But, oh, I do look cool when I carry it around. I love the keyboard--many laptops make me type over my own hands!A chronicle of my iBook: http://www.duvander.com/ibook/ -Ad

Yes, iBooks rock! I am jealous, jealous, jealous! Because they were too expensive to afford, I had to settle for a Windows laptop--never again, I tell you! Macintosh rocks. The Semicolon; Confessions of a Grammarqueen

oo oo ooooo! i got my graphite one a couple of months ago and she's my darling. i haven't had a mac in awhile (i've only used whatever random computer my job schlumped off on me), so it's great to see the improvements apple's made. and i was in an airport last week and had to fend people off - she's soooo beautiful. tips and tricks? hm. i use it for the website and design work and stuff. you said it's not your first mac, so as long as you've got your software up to date you should be set. have fun!!
