I can save $200 on a cross country trip by flying through Cleveland and connecting on a very small rubber-band powered plane to Islip, Long Island, which also adds about an hour each-way of ground travel time (or more, depending on traffic) to my trip. Is it worth it, or should I pay the extra money for a direct flight to Newark?

pay the extra money. think about being tired, delayed, and forced onto a plane smaller than the average car. one of those things where you can see the instrument panel just as well as the pilot can and there is nothing even resembling a stewardess or a 'lavatory'.
