Meds for elderly and Needy? Calling OG and A & L!

greenspun.com : LUSENET : FRL friends : One Thread

Does anyone here remember a post from tb2k that listed all the rx meds available to elderly and needy folks - evidently there is/was a program by the drug companies to distribute free/low cost meds to folks in need.

I think it might have been Old Git, but not sure. I tried looking in the archives for tb2k as well as the prep archive, but you know how it can be trying to find something in those! It's almost enough to make one pull one's hair out! EEEEEEK!

Yes, there is a drug program in the US for those in need. There are some parameters though. They need to be drugs that the patient requires for the on going treatment of a specific ongoing disease, and the patient must be able to show to the doctor that they have no means to pay. The doctor must then apply to the pharmaceutical company, providing pertinent data, and ask that the drug company pay for the drug for that patient. The doctor needs to do the paper work, based on his assessment. I have more specifics at work if you are interested. Let me know...

can you remove those pesky spaces that somehow got in my end bold tags?

it's in the ones after bayer, jansen, lilly, and sandoz

how come the dialog box puts a break in there even when i have the open tag butted up against the last word to be bolded?

anyway....sorry bout that

-- mebs (mebs@joymail.com), July 03, 2000.

No problem, and thanks for the info. I don't know why that happens, it would be cool if Lusenet had a preview before post thingy, like EZboard has. It's invaluable!

-- kritter (kritter@adelphia.net), July 03, 2000.

Hey Thanks people! I will forward this info on to some people who are in particular need of this. I sure appreciate the info Aunt Bee and mebs!

-- Sis (Sis@home.zzz), July 03, 2000.

And thanks from me too. I don't know anyone in such dire straits at the moment, but it is nice to know of this help.

It's interesting that the program has never been mentioned when the administration villifies the pharmaceutical industry. Hmm.

This is a question. Does anyone know how to get Nalcrom, that is edible Intal, or anything which works in the same way, that is deactivates the mast cells? Thanks

-- Elizabeth (ajcook@ains.net.au), February 26, 2002.

Elizabeth,

Like I said in my post yore, talk to the prescribing doc and ask he make application to the drug company based on the patient's need and inability to pay. The drug companies do have hearts ya know! You just have to find the right one. Best of luck to you and let us know how it goes...
