For historical purists, criticising the 1996 movie by Trevor Nunn is a favourite past time. It's hard to get past the historical inaccuracies but I found the movie worthwhile for entertainments sake with some lovely performances. I find many people become interested in Jane via the drastically inaccurate love story and are disappointed to discover it didn't happen quite that way. What do you think; loved it/hated it?

I loved the movie I own it and it is the greatest movie although it put in a love story that didn't happen at all I like all the facts of movies to be true. Never the less I did enjoy seeing Cory Elwes's butt. Oh yeah well it is a good movie and Lady Jane was one of the many great stories of Englands wonderful history. Another great movie is Anne of 1,000 Days. I am only 15 but I love every part of Englands History.

Hmm.. I'd have to agree with Emily on that about the movie. I own it, too and I love it! That's how I got interested in LJG, really. I'm with Emily on everything that she said..except for the butt thing. Although that was interesting. And besides to that fact- the actors are so great! The act so well. At first I though that that was the real story of Lady Jane Grey. But when I researched more about Lady Jane, I found out it wasn't. I was a bit confused at times, but it's alright, I guess. It is a great movie, though, so I can't complain. And also, Anne of 1000 Days is a also a brilliant movie. I watched it and I really like it. I'm also only 15, but... I guess we teens are interested in those things too.

I really enjoy the movie. I have long been a fan of english history, and am now doing a paper contrasting the movie and what actually happened. I did not know a whole lot before visiting the site, and am sort of glad the facts didn't line up exactly, makes for a more interesting paper. If anyone has any suggestions please let me know. I am only a college freshman and it is very tough.

True, I also loved this movie. I had never heared of Lady Jane until I saw the movie. And true, Anne of 1000 Days is another good one. If you'd like to switch, try Nicholas and Alexandra, about the last tsar of Russia. I think all of the movies are quite sad. However, by watching them you can see where alot of the "imperials" had made their deadly mistakes. I often wonder why they couldn't see it themselves.

Yes, I too loved the movie, even for all its historcal inaccuarcies. It was A truly beautiful, and heart wrenching movie--and I'm always thrilled at historical movies that encourage those who may not normally be interested in the wealth, and excitement that history has to offer. I do have one question, and would appreciate if anyone could answer it--Did Jane, as queen, issue a silver sterling with, (or without) her likeness???

I myself enyjoyed the me Lady Jane and Anne of Thousands Days, but i have one question after watching in the movie Lady Jane? during the movie they showed Edward V and is his cousin share a monent alone after she was repeatly beat because chose not to marry Guildford Dudley i want to know if it happened because i think it is sweet good they did but if they did not why do they show it in the movie? Also they show Lady Jane with her cousin Mary near the end if that happened it was good but if it didn't they shouldn't make things up so they can make people believe it happened because i fell it did happen it would make me feel foolish and others who think the same which that is only assuming people think that but is only a thought i and matter i like to know? Also i am from America and love the tudor family history.

If you like Anne of a Thousand Days and Lady Jane, try the very old 1954 movie, Young Bess (Jean Simmons/Stewart Granger) This is and was a true love story of young Elizabeth I and Thomas Seymour, or another true love story, of Elizabeth I and Lord Essex (Errol Flynn). Like yourself, I've always loved Englands historical past.
