Would like to know current status of digital back development. When can we expect to see above mentioned items in the market place?

There are digital backs on the market right now, but they tend to be very expensive and very slow to capture the image. I personally don't see them taking off well at all since it's cheaper and less of a technical hassle to purchase a fully digital camera. What seems to be the trend, however, is the companies are creating good digital cameras that have standard mounts. This means if you have (in the case of D1) Nikon lenses, you'll be able to use them - a godsend for anyone who's got an arm, leg, and a liver invested. Canon's soon to be released D30 follows the same path.

The latest information I've heard is out of CreoScitex with a product called "C-MOST" sensor, the same size as a 35mm focal plane with a 6.6 megapixel rating. The press reports sound promising, but there seems to be no pricing point. I don't know if this will ever take flight as it seems their announcement looked more like a thinly veiled cry for capital investment.
