Burning Jpegs/slide show/compatible for All

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Imaging Resource Discussion : One Thread

Greetings!! I have a digital camera and I take lots of pictures. To make a long story short... I want to take all of those pictures and burn them onto a CD. I would like the photos to be in a slide show format and it must be compatible for everyone to view. I will be making several of these CD's to give to friends as gifts.. I own a Macintosh and they own IBM's. My husband is the GuRu when it comes to this stuff, but he is new to the CD burning thing. He's burned a few games but that's it. He uses "Toast" All of our pictures are in jpeg format converted through Graphics converter (to reduce size).

Any help or programs out there to assist with this? Remember, I use a Mac! Thanks

Jandy, (is Jandy short for something else?). Sorry, just curious. Toast is a great program for burning CDs and there should be no problem burning them for cross platform viewing. I just did 30 today for pr release and they tested fine from Mac (which they were burned on) to PC and back to Mac. If everyone you send them to is on a PC then perhaps you can export them as a Powerpoint presentation. I am not much of a fan of Powerpoint, but I must use it occasionally. I'm not sure just what else may be out there. If you really feel adventurous (sp?) try exporting them in Flash.

How about making them web pages? Then just about any computer can read them, now and for a long time in the future. There's a load of software out there to assist (but I can't recommend anything specific, because I roll my own).
