My 6 month old male "Pookie" loves to eat anything, if we me and my husband are eating he thinks he should get to try it out, he loves lettuce, carrots, watermelon, rice, chicken, beef, and thats just a few things, I have never had a cat to do this before, has anyone else had this happen with there MC's, is this a behavior or characterist trait, or what, any suggestions or answers will be helpful. Thanks so much... :-)

My MC, Maggie loved to eat whatever I was eating. Her very favorite was barbecue. She never had the slightest clue that she shouldn't eat with us at the table. She had cancer, so I let her get by with anything. Then along came Simon. He loves corn flakes and eats them from my bowl before I know what he is doing. He also eats corned beef and fresh tomatoes. So, as you see, your MC isn't the only one eating human food. I just make sure that Simon gets a very small amount of human food and that his kitten food is very high quality.

My MC, Winnie, doesn't have any interest in human foods such as beef or chicken, but she adores boysenberry yogurt, pea soup and the liquid that comes with canned chick peas and kidney beans! She also loves to clean out the bottom of my cereal bowl. I don't let her do this too often, because the milk doesn't agree with her digestive system.

Our kitty, (we think she's at least part MC... we got her at the Humane Society), Elaine wants to eat anything we eat too. Her favorite is popcorn. Whenever we use the microwave, she goes nuts and then is very disappointed when it's not popcorn. I always bite off the hulls and then I throw the fluffy part to her and she chases it down and eats it. Of course, now she wants to eat anything that we eat that is in a bag. If we are eating chips or pretzels from a bag, Elaine will sit on our lap and attack/paw at the bag when we have our hand in it. Fortunately, she doesn't beg for food at the table, at least not yet...

Val, our 14 month old f non purebred MC eats Pizza, donuts (plain and only the soft inner part), bologna, french fries, potatio salad, and fried chicken. We give her a lttle bit of these things and other 'people food' as a treat. Her basic diet is dry and canned cat food that I mix together.
