Just getting the time to read at all seems like a forbidden pleasure! :)

As a citizen of this United States I don't consider anything I read as "forbidden." There are things I read that I would not leave laying around for just anybody to see. Not necessarily confined to things of an erotic nature. There are other readings that one must use discretion, especially where youth is involved. I am not planning or interested in the overthrow of any government or in terrorism. But I would highly resent a censorship of what I read.

I've read some historical romance novels , such as stories of Vikings or the Scots in the 15th-17th centuries. The wierd thing is that many are given to my by my mother-in-law and the idea of her (or god forbid, my own mother) reading about these sex scenes make me squirm. Their great descriptions, but I just can't seem to get out of the back of my mind WHO was reading this before me...kind of interferes with the desired effect.

On the advice of a secondhand bookstore owner, I bought a couple of historical romances written by Pamela Morsi. I was embarrassed to leave them around the house, what with the bodice-ripper covers and all. They weren't bad books, but I won't buy any more.

I secretly love to read all the women's magazines like Cosmo and Glamour. All the articles are pretty much the same as the previous month (e.g. How to Drive Your Man Wild in Bed), but for some bizarre reason I get a kick out of it.
