Considering purchase of Coolpix 800. Steve's Digicams states that you cannot use macro focussing and self-timer at the same time. This sounds crazy. Without self timer or remote control, how can you shoot without vibration? Any info on this subject with other cameras also appreciated.

YOU CAN WORK ON ELECTRONICS AND BUILD A CIRCUIT ADAPTER TO CONTROL THE SHUTTER FROM THE MAC SERIAL CABLE, AND THEN FIRE THE COOLPIX REMOTELLY. NO IDEA WHAT ANY OTHER SOLUTION EXCEPT FOR BUYING A $140 BLACK BOX WHICH IS A REMOTE SHUTTER
