If my childhood friend and long time rider, Steve Tilford is participating, we could all cheer for him.

Steve Tilford was highlighted as the Sunflower Games program as the 1990 Sunflower Ganme mtn bike champ and then in 1999 the world champ. Could be fun to see the kid who started biking (& cyclo crossed) in high school with the old Mt Oread Club. From the past: Steve (or it may have been his brother, Kris) raced Mike Meenehan at a Rock Haven O'meet. Tilford "the Hare" sprinted between controls but ran all over the place while Meenehan "the Tortoise" went straight to each control. The ran the whole course practically arriving together to each control. I'm pretty sure Mike finished ahead of Kris.

The cyclo-cross champs is going to be in a park (I think it's Stoll Park) that is just south of Johnson County Community College. PTOC has a map of JCCC, I wonder if it covers the park as well?
