I have two beautiful boy kittens who most definetly fit the description of Main Coon, but I adopted them from the NYC Bid A Wee home and they don't have any papers so... I was wondering if there was any way to find out if they are pure breeds (genetic testing for pets?). I wouldn't care, but one of the brothers is your standard looking dark tabby type just like the pics I've seen, and his brother is pure jet black with an almost siameese face. I was told that they were droped off by Aminal Rescue here in NY and that's all I know. Do coons come in the jet black variety? He fits all the descriptions (Especially the love of water).
