I've been reading the old posts about the shorts, and I have to wonder how do you guys know the names of these characters when there's no dialogue?

Um..... that's a very good question. How DO we know? I can't even remember where I first learned them. Some long-forgotten Aeon fan-page, no doubt.

Most of us probably did pick them up from other (more knowing) people and discussions but every episode is documented thoroughly in the Cinefantastique article. From memory they mention their names in that and briefly discuss a few.

I think it was Ed Stastny, who learned of the names when he interviewed Peter and associated them with the image files on his web page.

I found the cinefantastique article to be more comprehensive than the WCK (wild cartoon kingdom) article. It was longer and went into more detail (from memory). That was the impression they left on me, I would have to check for specifics.
