Did somebody mention a while back that they had a litter of farm collies? If so, could you tell me what you have --i.e. what type of farm collie? And if you will have any pups for sale, perhaps next year? Thank you.

Kathleen, I mentioned we had Border Collies. These are the medium size Black and White Collies like in the movie "BABE". They are not like Lassie collies or minature collies. We will have a litter end of September. Around here those large Lassie collies are quite often in the paper for free, if thats the kind you want I can keep my eyes open and they also have a site for free transport only for "adoption dogs", really neat. The minature collies are quite expensive. An Amish gentleman from Deleware is going to pick up 2 girls from this litter, one for himself and one for his friend, really interesting talking to him on the phone! Said he walked to the next farm and used the phone in the shed! Soooo Cooool. After 2 months of trying we finially managed to get 2 pups to Michigan for a girl. Let me know if I can help any.

I've already e-mailed Cindy (thank you, Cindy, for your responses), but for anyone else who is interested, the old-fashioned farm collies are indeed what I am looking for. Perhaps if everyone who reads this will keep their eyes open for dogs that match the descriptions, it will help to keep another domestic animal from disappearing altogether.

Copy and Paste-just went for me. Hold down left mouse key and highlight the link, just move over it. Right click and hit copy, then go up to your browser ADDRESS click in there, right click and hit paste-and GO

That's what I did, Cindy, the first time, and no go -- BUT tried it again today, and got it. I don't know how it works exactly, but maybe something was wrong with their server or host or whatever the heck. (shrug)

Thank you all for the great links. I am glad there are still people out their trying to preserve the Farm Dog.

Since I was a kid, I've always had a collie/aussie or collie/queensland for farm, companionship and personal protection. Best all around farm dog you can have.

By the way, I had one tri-color, collie marked, broad head shorter muzzle that an old-timer told me was a McNab collie. Has anyone else heard of those?

I bought a Farm Collie at Faraway Farms here in Addison County, Vermont. He's 3/4 Collie and 1/4 Austrailian Shepherd. He looks like a collie but with a very short tail. You can see Duffy's father Angus and his mother Isabelle at the site - keyword search for Faraway Farms in New Haven Vermont. They have a lot of photos posted. Duffy is 6 months old and he's got a great tempermant and looks to match.
