When I quit my job the first thing I wanted to do was to give back to the community, to do some volunteer work that I had not had the time for (or made the time for) in the previous 10 years. I now do a lot of volunteer work for an AIDS outreach organization and find much more satisfaction from that than if I were in a paying job. And no, I would not take money to do what I'm doing. It would change the whole purpose behind it for me.

I do my online journal for no profit whatsoever. I do my webcam [not currently, but I have in the past] for no profit, although I did get alot of gifts from doing that.

I volunteer at a reading program at the elementary school I work at, I've volunteered for three years, and I get payment by the hugs the kids give me, and the way they can raise their reading level one to two grade levels a year in that program.

I do a newsletter for an organization that houses teenage girls that have been removed from their homes for one reason or another - usually abuse. And they continue their education, etc. I also do a newsletter and a website for the "Technical Women's Organization", which promotes increasing the number of females in technical positions such as engineering. We encourage girls in school to take math and science classes........ Beyond that, I stay busy helping my five grandchildren in their school needs and activities. Wish I had time to do more. When I retire for my job, I hope to invest more of my time in my community.
