I'd like to build a stone bread oven and was wondering if anyone out there has and could give me any input. God bless!

We just built one... for $120. (The store-bought kind starts at $2100, without the brick or stone). Ours works great! Details (and pix) are in the Nov/Dec Countryside, which goes to press this week. Jd

Can't wait for the this issue! My husband and I have been talking about making one for a while now but couldn't find any plans. We wanted to make one for the experience of it but also to curb electric bill due to baking-electric prices here in Maine-we swear- are regulated by loan sharks! This will be a great answer to that problem until we can afford to put in gas for summer cooking some time down the road. Thanks Jd.
