OT question for all marpers: whats your fav song ???

greenspun.com : LUSENET : MAME Action Replay : One Thread

yes its gonna go in the OT section (nothing to do with MARP)

as for my favorite song, it's actually one i just heard today for the 1st time: "don't call me baby" by madison avenue - its beat heaven. couldn't get it out of my mind for at least 5 hours and i don't care

CLOSE CALLS: "country grammar" - nelly "boys" - smile.dk (dance dance revolution) "bitch please 2" - dre, snoop, eminem, nate dogg, xzibit (my old #1 favorite) "around the world" - daft punk "the real slim shady" - eminem (the phrase "please stand up" has replaced "the tribe has spoken" and "final answer" in my mind) "i'm back" - eminem

JoustGod's gonna yell at us, you do realize. With all our music from nowadays, and it doesn't live up to the classics *JOKING*

My favorite songs, in no particular order:

Korn - anything by Korn, really. :)

Limp Bizkit - anything of their's EXCEPT for "Faith". No one should ever remake a Wham song.

Eminem - Guilty Conscience, Kim, The Way I Am. I like his other songs, but these are among the best.

Barenaked Ladies (WHAT??? J.D. picked a group that isn't rock and/or rap????) - "Lovers in a Dangerous Time". Do me a favor, download it sometime. It's incredible, the harmonies are great, and everything is just incredible (and redundant, apparently).

Our Lady Peace - "One Man Army". This one will grow on you, since at first it's so weird.

Disturbed - "Stupified". It's loud, it's weird, and for some odd reason, it helps me play btime. heh.

Anything Classical. I've always liked classical music, for some reason. It's weird then that I listen to rock more often. However, if it's available, I will listen to it, and love every second of it.

I'll probably come back to post some more that I can't think of now. I'm too distracted by a burnt tounge (how was I supposed to know coffee would be hot? ;) )

Sincerely,

J.D. Lowe

P.S. Here, I just thought of something to summarize my musical tastes:

If there is a genre that I don't particularly like, there is still at least one person in it that I like; i.e. country, but I love "Devil Went Down To Georgia" and "Thunder Rolls". I don't like any Pop Music, but I enjoy Eminem (yes, David, Eminem is pop. He didn't want to go pop, but he did). I'm not a particular fan of Jazz, but I love Rockapella. I'm just odd :)

did he ask for favorite songS or favorite song, jd :) I'll put my random vote up for: Every Little Counts - New Order. If anyone wants to download my mix audio tapes that i recently converted from tape to MP3, check out.

ftp://ftp.cts.com/users/king/c/churritz/mp3

they are big but if you have a fast connection, they're on a T3. There are also scans of the cassette covers so you can see the songs you choose, so far there are 3 tapes, side1-side2. all retro songs 80s through mid90s with a single beatles song, each mixed with smooth transitions and lots of bugs bunny samples :)

Song, songs, same difference; MARP is no place for grammer (typo intentional :) ) O.K. here's my ABSOLUTE favorite song (probably not :) ). You better be happy :)

Here it is:

Timmy and The Lords of the Underworld - "Livin' A Lie"

You've gotta appreciate South Park :)

Sincerely,

J.D. Lowe

OK, here I go (these are just examples of the music I like/play):

NOFX "Leave it alone" Dead Kennedys "Holiday in Cambodia" Green Day "Espionage" Nirvana "Pennyroyal tea" + "Marigold" Bad Religion "All good soldiers" Mutant Camels from Deep Space "Datemi del bromuro [Gimme some bromide]" Early Graves "The ballad of Joseph O'Dell and Derek Rocco barnabei"

Oh, yes, did I mention I wrote the last 2 songs? ;)

I like your taste in music, Vaz. I'm sorry, guys, but you've GOTTA love Green Day and Nirvana. Then again, this is my teenage angst coming through :) Some more favorite song(s) :) : Staind - There are two songs of theirs that I love: "Mudshovel" and "Home". Explanation for "Mudshovel": When it first came out, that was when I broke up with my girlfriend, and it was perfect timing: "You can feel my anger, you can feel my pain, you can feel my torment, driving me insane, I can't fight these feelings, they bring only pain, you can't take away, make me whole again." Explanation for "Home": "And I try to be the one, I can't accept this all because of you I've had to walk away from everything" Nine Inch Nails - "We're In This Together Now". Listen to the long version; you'll know it's the long version when the lyrics stop, and you think the background music will never go away, but very slowly, you hear (I think) Trent Reznor playing the piano. For a rock song, it's very beautiful.

That does it, if I keep talking about music, I'll never learn anything here at campus! david, consider yourself slapped with a fish because of this topic :) Sincerely, J.D. "Music Addict" Lowe
