i am having trouble creating different moods(ie coloureed lighting) with black and white film in an underwater situation. How can i get the best result from underwater portraiture.

Rosie; Years of experience being all wet have shown me that allowing your subject's head to protrude above the water during the exposure makes for a more relaxed, natural expression. I find this a lot more attractive than the look one gets from people holding their breath, or wearing scuba gear. Also, colored lighting doesn't show up well at all on b&w film. And if you must shoot completely submerged, I recommend a number 13 bubble filter on your lens.
