I am running SQL Server 2000, Beta 2. Its documentation includes information on how to administer SQL Server 6.5 and SQL Server 2000 was clearly designed with SQL Server 6.5 in mind. This gives me confidence that 6.5 will be supported at least until the release of the version after SQL Server 2000.

By supported, I mean that Microsoft will help you with any SQL Server 6.5 issues should you call their paid support. I do not expect to see any more service packs for SQL Server 6.5, however.
