exhibition of past scapheap machinesgreenspun.com : LUSENET : Scrapheap : One Thread |
having been a fan of the programme for some time is there going to be an exhibition of these fantastic machines? it would make a great charitable event. can i put in a request for the charities that i am involved with to benefit from such an event? yours david joyce.

I reckon that sounds like a good idea. Unfortunately all the machines have gone back to the Scrapheap from whence they came (I think) - however if enough people seemed interested then it would be nice to work it out for after the next series, if we get recommissioned.

I think that it would be a good idea because there isn't just a few people who watch the show but thounds! It would be a big day out.

I think that this type of show would out shine or out rust the motor show. If they try to axe you we'll go round and turn their cars into something usefull for you

Excellent idea, you can pencil me in for visiting that one! I dont think the viewing figure do the programme justice.There are loads of people I know who watch it. Strange though how they never seem to be asked by any survey what they watch!

Great idea! There is something oddly aesthetic about those strictly utilitarian contraptions. Perhaps a modern art museum could sponsor such a show...or the Smithsonian Museum.

The "Junksonian!" Yes, it has a nice ring to it! I would be very happy to return to London and single-handedly rebuild the "Punkin Musket #1" from the scrap pile back to it's original recycled glory. Waddy "expert" for the "Rusty Juveniles" In the "Pumpkin Launching" episode.

I am certain that NOONE would be interestested in buying the turbine that failed to grind enough coffee to win the early challenge in 2000.Having said that, the team worked VERY hard to build a wonderful machine;
But at the end of the show, the Manic Mechanics and myself, the opposing team (techno-teachers and their expert),.. and the RDF production team were so knackered that I thing the machines probably went straight back to the crusher.
I fear that several other devices may have gone the same way....
