Jorja - Southern Utah

Hi Jorja, No, I didn’t accidentally leave out Southern Utah. Don’t normally talk much about the REALLY GREAT places I have been. There are enough people around them already and don’t need more. Course most folk don’t venture off the Eisenhower Interstate, let along a blacktop road. (As a sidelight - You can travel from the Mexican to the Canadian boarder without ever, hardly, getting onto a blacktop road. Just gravel and dirt, course take a little longer. About two months.) My ol’ Jeep and I have been rock crawlin’ several times in the past 30 years up west of Moab and Blanding. The canyon country is outstanding, no spectacular, especially where the roads are real faint. Down Glen Canyon in a wooden row boat before the dam. Over around Escalante and some of the northern ditches leading into the Grand Canyon. Two years ago, spent some time below highway 50 and the mountains along 89. One of my favorite areas was Dixie. Course we hit high gear before getting into that area up by the Cedar Breaks. Way too many touristas for my liking. If I go a week or two without seeing other folks, them I am where I belong. Course now that the snow is heavy on the roof year around, I tend to stay in civilization during the winter months. but maybe next winter will spent it in Southern Utah
