I want to adopt a 2-4 year adult MC, and I am concerned about the possible health problems (that is, Hyper Cardiomyopathy and Hip Displaysia). (I had a cat that died at the age of 3 from Hyper Cardiomyopathy, and I remember the terrible suffering.) I am interested in knowing what the general consensus is, or your opinion of, testing MCs for Hyper Cardiomyopathy and Feline Hip Displaysia.

How do I find only breeders that screen for these disorders? I live in MA, but I am willing to travel to find the right cat. Thank you.
