I got a 4mo kitten at a shelter. After doing 3 months of research I believe I have a Main Coon. I would bet money on it. I need to know something, every morning, most mornings around 4 or 5 am Smokey comes up to my face licks me and then bites me and hard too. It hurts. Does he dislike me? He follows me everywhere and wants to help with everything, I thought we were buddies, I love him dearly I was hoping he felt the same way.

I also have what I believe is a MC. Molly was also obtained from a shelter. I got her at 4 weeks old and have had her one year Dec. 7. She has always been a "biter" which distressed me as well as it appears to distress you. I have been on this board about her biting and all the hints I received did not really help. I just figured she would outgrow it. She follows me everywhere and wants to be in the same room with me all the time. She doesn't particularly like to be picked up and will allow it for a time and if I do not put her down when she meows she will bite me, also hard. She also "ambushes" me, a term I learned on this board, around the legs when I am walking. Sometimes she just grabs my legs and other times she also takes a nip out of my leg when she grabs it. I will say she has improved with respect to the biting and do hope she will outgrow it in time. I hope Smokey doesn't bit your face. Molly will never bite my face, only my hands if I do not get away from her teeth quick enough. I do not think I have helped you in anyway, but at least you know that Shadow isn't the only MC that bites.
