Chin acne or more?greenspun.com : LUSENET : Maine Coon Cats : One Thread |
Since moving into a different apartment, my MC has developed what my vet thinks is chin acne. I treated it with peroxide and it got better, but then I left for a day and it came back with a huge vengeance. Now I am using Pyobel Gel prescribed by the vet and it seems like her whole little chin is crusting up and all red and sensitive. This apartment had a bird before (this is a sublet so the carpets were not cleaned). Is it possible that old bird feces are doing this to her chin? Any remedies or tips? Help! Amy

Don't know what causes the acne but it is not anything to do with the birds, more likely a reaction to a food or coloring or additive in her food.

My little guy got chin acne when he was little. The vet said he wasn't cleaning his chin off properly. I washed his chin ( Elmer's, not the vet's) with warm water every night AND changed his food-- I think the tuna ( which I no longer feed him at all) was to blame.
