Yea, like this mantra of "time to heal" and "time to unite not devide". Sure, after 8 years of hounding Clinton and all they get is a lie (which technically was not a lie acording to the judges description of sex), and now we should not do the same to Bushbaby, not delve into his background, not find out about his drug use and the missing time during his service (sic) to his country.

Every word, every action by Clinton and wife were twisted into the worse possible description, yet here sits a slow whitted Texas good ole boy who has already insulted the Queen of England and brought a law suit against imself by the leader of Russia, who never even wanted to be president, who's parents amnipulated him into it, even had the preacher of his church give a serman "calling him" to the job, who is was told at one of his birthday parties that he would become presdent. He was grromed fr the position by his daddy and his croonies, his tainted past removed from the files where ever possible, taught "canned" responces to probing questions. He, himself, did not have to do much, it was all being arranged for him. He is probably as scared shitless as he looked when he did the little "pretend" acceptance after Florida tried to give him the election. He is just a front, there is no denial from him and his cronies about that, he deligates.

Yet we are being asked to ignore all of this, forget and forgive the things that were said and done during the campaign and Florida fiasco, as well as all of the dirty tricks and pure hatrid that were heaped upon Clinton.

I don't think so, we will not forget, the steady increase of Democrats in national office since the impeachment farce is proof of that.

Why should he be denied the scrutony Clinton was subjected to? Is he Gods gift to the world, or compairable to Moses as was blatently declaired in church on Thursday(?) morning?

It is so obvious that every means possible is being used to brainwash the masses. Kinda like the tricks used by the CIA. Repeat the same mantra enough times and people will start believing it, they repeat these beliefs as their own and are convinced what they say is true and try to convince even more of society. You get to the point where you ask yourself, "how can I be right and everyone else wrong" which causes individuals to question their own beliefs. Just the kind of tricks that were used by so many into convincing Y2K would cause TEOTWAWKI. I remember writing just that very thing about embeddeds, Why I am right and everyone else is wrong, or something like those words. Turns out that I was right and everyone else was wrong-everyone who believed in embedded chip problems.

The problem is that not many people think like I do and believe what their eyes see and minds know, when confronted or surrounded by large numbers of people who believe differently.

Too many people have grown lazy, allow others to do their thinking and reasoning for them, accept as fact what is said by the media.

Al Gore won more than Bush did over the events in Florida. He made the republicans and Bush Camp to show their true selves, forced them to expose their dirty tricks, those actions that are usually hidden from public view, that they keep hidden behind a phony "public" immage. Chaney's snarl is frozen on his face, Bushes smirk refuses to go away, no matter how much training he is being given. It's too late for them to learn to correct their body language in any believable way. They have never felt the need to act in a socially correct way, that was for the BIG GOVERNMENT TYPES up there in Washington, you know where, the people we Texans dispise live?

Now go back and read 1984 again and learn to play your little rolls correctly, for that is what you are being asked to do. You are being asked to deny the conclutions of your own minds and accept a different version of events then you have just seen with your own eyes and hear with your own mind.

Now this little comparison of GW Bush with Moses is just one more in a long list of actions that will be played out in the attempt of coersive manipulation of public opinion.

A week ago we were flooded with pictures outraged republicans taking to the streets with T-shirts and signs belittling Gore and Lieberman and their supporters. Today these paid "protesters stand in their suits and ties in line waiting for the rewards for their paid Florida vacation. A hispanic speaking station had broadcasted lies about Gore not wanting the hispanic vote and were brainwashed into believing the republican spin and came out to protest. They now sit, forgotten by the repugs who coersed them into action, humiliated by having allowed themselves to be used and dropped like a one night stand the morning after, in the light of a brand new day. The seniors who were maligned and told their vote shouldn't count if they can't follow instuctions. They should forget the public humiliation they recieved? The thousands of fvoters who were turned away at the polls, being told that they could not vote because they were felons, by the same system that allowed absentee ballots sent to republican voters who, in fact, did not read and follow the instructions on their forms that told them to check and verify the correct information before signing them and sending them in. Where were the screams of don't make the voters vote invalid ecause of an illegal action of someone else, when all of those who had a legal right to vote were not allowed to due to the mistake of "someone else" who got a bad list of felons out of (of all places-immagine) Texas.

There will be lists kept of the wrongs that were done. Where was the trust in the people when the will of the people who he claims to trust told him they did not want him to be their president.

Lets all forget how he lied about trusting the people and went to "big Government" to get what he wanted.

Lets all forget who financed his campaign, and are now waiting in the wings with their hands out for their rewards. No matter that those rewards may have absolutely no benifits for the people, the people he trusts. They will not trust him when the will of the people are disreguarded in the name of profit for campaign contributers. The HMO's will profit greatly when the "patients bill of rights" turns out to be HMO's bill of rights to profit at the expense of human lives and health.

The pharmisutical industry and HMO industries will get their contribution payback when seniors are forced to join HMO's in order to get affordable medication.

If he usses the same method of using monies earmarked for childrens medical care to give tax relief to the highest paid segment of csociety, this will mean that money earmarked for social security will be used to give tax cuts to the highest segment of society. Tax breaks and paybacks will be at the expense of those who recieve so little to begin with.

Should we pretend it ain't so, and unite to give him what he wants? Should we go voluntarily into the gas chambers in the name of uniting the country and mending fences?

I predict that anything a demacrat does against his wishes will be considered an attempt to devide.

So we have been given the new set of rules. Do what Bush wants, support his agenda and you will be included into "Bushes uniters", go against his wishes, don't agree with him and you will be labled a devider. Freedom of choice and following the wishes of the people who voted you into office is no longer allowed. He is well known for having an enemy list, and he does retaliate against them.

Listen to what he says and watch what he does and you will find out that actions do speak louder then words.

He wants us to unite-behind him.

Bush and Company ran a campaign of vicious attacks, predominantly centered on a man who wasn't even running, yet now spews on about "uniting the country"? Why doesn't it "intrigue" you that the country that George W. Bush and Company want suddenly "united" is the very same country they just ripped to shreds?

Why is it that YOUR "facts" are the ONLY "facts" that are true "facts"? I notice that you chime in with your bewilderment, but I have yet to see you actually address any of the points that are made against George W. Bush, Upstanding and Patriotic American.

Do you think it's OK to bleed the taxpayers of billions of dollars, as long as you don't have to take a loss or stand up for your misdeeds? Do you think it's OK to sell your interest in a company about to tank as long as you come out ahead of the stockholders? Do you think it's OK to take millions of dollars from investors when the reality is you aren't actually doing what you claimed was the basis for the investments? Do you think it's OK to do business with terrorists as long as your agenda goes through? Do you think it's OK to completely wipe clean your driving record as long as your "family doesn't find out"? Do you think it's OK to go AWOL for two years, and then pretend you're an Upstanding, Patriotic American Who Served His Country? Do you think it's OK to have "found God", yet execute more people than the rest of the nation combined?

Why is it OK to exaggerate Gore's quotes, yet to overlook the blatant hypocrisy that is the Bush Family Heritage? And why were the vicious attacks on Gore OK, yet the ONLY things the Bush campaign could "dig up" on Gore was (a) a series of mis-quotes (most of which were taken COMPLETELY out of context); and, (b) he was Clinton's Vice President? Were you even aware that, FROM THE START OF THE BUSH CAMPAIGN, his campaign manager's "strategy" was to use a 27-year "catalogue" of things Gore had said, and whenever Gore spoke, he'd "match" it against something previously stated...if so much as a PREPOSITION differed, it was sent to "the liberal media" as A LIE.....and that very same "liberal media" ran with it as fact?

Why doesn't it bother you that George W. Bush, Upstanding and Patriotic American, wasn't elected but was virtually installed by a highly-partisan Supreme Court? Why don't I see you talking about the fact that in their "decision", they effectively blocked any further use of that decision as a basis on which any other court can issue an opinion? Why doesn't it bother you that the Highest Court in the Land, the Court that Upholds the Constitution and State's Rights, basically shut down the State of Florida's right to decide for themselves?

Where's your outrage over any of this?

Florida ended up being the nail in the coffin, but this is really like arguing about a close ballgame. The officials made a bad call; the quarterback missed a critical play with three seconds to go; and so on.

(And the reason why I'm not gloating is because it could very EASILY have gone the other way. I think that's one reason why Bush and Gore appear to have been sincere in their concession/acceptance speeches. It was that close and BOTH know it.)

But Trish, the real culprits, IMNHO, are Nader and Buchanan. Nader siphoned enough votes from Gore to deny him a clear victory and Buchanan removed the Reform Party as a factor, giving votes to Bush (ditto).

If Gore had won just a couple of other states that Nader denied him, or even if merely you'd removed Nader from Florida, none of this mess would have happened. So, there's your culprit(s -- seriously, Buchanan deserves a look, too).

B.S. There was a concerted effort on the part of the RNC, Bush campaign and republican members of the Florida government to everything possible to stack the cards in favor of Bush.

It is now ok to do something illegal as long as you have a "good excuse"? The ballot requests had been signed by the people who sent them in with the wrong information on them. Too bad those people didn't know how to read the instructions and signed the requests with the wrong information on them, oops no it is the old retired Jewish people who were too stupid to vote because they couldn't read instructions isn't it? That's what Repub. pundits laughingly stated over and over to the media. Yes both parties were sending out absentee ballot requests, but it is illegal to change the information on any form of paperwork once it has been signed. But then who cares right? The laws are for criminals, not for republicans "doing their job". -And just how convenient was it that the Black voters were the ones removed from the rolls for being felons and that erroneous information came from Texas? Odd that there were not any felons in Texas with the same name as white with Florida voters in white precincts. Or were only the names in the black precincts checked against the list? But then that wouldn't be biased would it, after all we all know that rap listenin black gang bangers are the ones with all the felonies, no need to check the lists of names against majority republican white percents.

So don't try to tell me it was just some kind of honest close ball game.

You may have forgotten that I was what equals a "uppity black in the 1960's" trying to force my way into the white mans world.

You want to know a little fact? I was the one of the first 4 women in a mans job in the entire military, but when I got into flight simulators, there weren't any black MEN in the field either.

But of course there isn't any racism or bigotry out there is there? I come from probably one of the most colorblind cities in the country and it exists here, I have lived in Texas and Florida and can tell you that people accept their racial bigotry's as normal, justifiable and universal. They cannot imagine that what they feel or their actions and those of their peers are in anyway wrong. They don't even realize they are showing their bigotry in the things they say.

The things that are accepted as "normal" in the "south" are understood in more "liberal" parts of the country as socially wrong.

But lets bash Jesse Jackson for bringing in the "race card", he is just a divider, not a uniter like Bush who so blatantly has picked a black man a black woman and a hispanic as his first three choices to his cabinet so he looks like he is unbiased. But it is window dressing and most people who went through the "real" civil rights struggles 30 years ago understand. Bush is so umm, stupid that he picked people like himself as his publicity managers so they are 30 years behind the times when it comes to race relations the same as him. Absolutely no one, except people with his mentality, is falling for his show of diversity. Gads it's pathetic! He didn't learn a thing from the reaction to his show at the republican national convention, he just keeps on showing what a bigot he is, by trying to prove the opposite.

A person who is comfortable with their view of diversity does not go around trying to prove it all the time.

Too bad they had to be forced by the evolution of the American society to finally acknowledge that blacks are not subhuman creatures. Maybe in another hundred years they'll get over it. Then maybe they will drop their attitude of superiority.

Well, I thought Clinton did a pretty good job. The economy did will on his term, and he didn't rock the boat. We were lucky that the socialized medicine never got off the ground, but Clinton didn't WAY overspend his revenues the way his predecessors did, and he can take some responsibility for reforming welfare. All in all, I approve of the job he did as President, and I was never particularly upset that he couldn't resist chasing women. If Gore had won and followed in Clinton's general direction, we'd be in good hands as well.

But Bush is also a centrist who will probably antagonize the right wing more than he does the Democrats. He lacks a religious agenda, he's willing to compromise, and this bodes will for the notoriously intolerant right-wing nutballs. I think he's a better politician than Gore, but that may not be a compliment.

I noticed your deafening silence throughout all the election nonsense and knowing that you do, in fact, stick to very strict principles, that spoke louder volumes to me than your propensity to "all caps" could ever. Just think about what I said; there's no shame in disagreeing with the wackos, even if the wackos aren't as far to the fringe as you'd like them to be.

Stephen, this is not about "a close ballgame". Again, I am raising the flag on **hypocrisy**; **hypocrisy** which NO so-called Bush "supporter" has **ever answered**. In all fairness, I cannot recall if you were/are a "Clinton-hater", but that has nothing to do with what I posted above.

I will not rehash what I stated above, but I would like to add one final (?) note to this sad episode. I am referring to the absolute, unwavering incredulity I find myself experiencing whenever I hear George W. Bush, Upstanding and Patriotic American, claim he is going to "restore honor and dignity to the White House". I find as that hard to TYPE with a straight face as it is to say it out loud.

As "unintelligent" as I think the man to be (and make no mistake about it -- I DO believe him to be more than a few cards shy of a full deck), even HE'S not stupid enough to believe this worst of the rhetoric, considering his and his family's and his "advisors'" pasts.

And if it should happen that he does, in fact, "buy into it", then we're in worse shape as a nation than anyone could imagine.

That was an imperfect analogy, intended to illustrate how each side's SUPPORTERS *feel*. Sure, I wanted Bush to win, but I am not happy (or as Anita said, "satisfied") with this result. It smells of dead fish. I would rather have had a clear Bush *or* Gore win to this last minute, 4th down and 10 yards to go "Immaculate Conception" stuff, precisely because it leaves one side convinced that it was cheated and the other less than happy because it wasn't a clear victory.

And by the way ... don't let anger at the Supreme Court cause you to overlook my key point, which was that Buchanan and Nader, in the final analysis, cost Gore the election.

Pick just two states -- really, just about ANY two that went for Bush -- in which Nader was a factor, give just 70% of his votes to Gore, and Albert be in the White House. :)

I *still* want to see an intelligent commentary on where Nader came from, who financed him, and what his motives were.

Vincente Fox will hopefully do his part to untangle the nightmare that is NAFTA. Come to Southern California and observe the not-so- wonderful effects of sub-standard over the road equipment that litters the freeways here. You see, the truckers hauling goods in from the ‘south’ are not held to quite the same standards as their American counterparts. Examples: (1). Equipment condition (2). Insurance coverage (3). Weight law compliance Each of these areas results in a negative downside, i.e.; Accidents, pollution, excessive damage to roadway surfaces, and of course the monumental financial burden it places on, ultimately, the American taxpayer…..you and I. In addition, our countries industrial rail system has been seriously ‘clogged-up’ due to the graft and gross inefficiency related to moving goods by rail into and from Mexico. I don’t blame Clinton for this; NAFTA was not his baby.

As to the Gradual phase-out of welfare and public assistance, well the truth is simple: It ain’t happening. Oh, you will see a few ‘success stories’ paraded before you but don’t be fooled, for the various programs and efforts have met unyielding resistance and are mired in the bureaucratic abyss.

I’m not quite sure what the Religious Liberties Act is all about so… no comment.
