Are the Bender cameras worth the money? Or should I look elsewhere? Thanks!

Not if you put a dollar value on your time. But if you enjoy tinkering, value the process as much as the product, have a spot where you can leave piles of parts where they won't be disturbed by kids or pets, can wade through confusing instructions, and can roll with the punches when you break a part or glue the wrong ones together, then . . .yes. I'm in the final stages of assembling the 4x5, which will be my first large format camera. It looks great, but I still don't really know if it will work.
