Need Rice Krispy Treat Recipe NOW!greenspun.com : LUSENET : Countryside : One Thread |
My husband just called from work, he forgot to tell me they are having a Christmas "pot luck" tomorrow, and he needs to bring 85 rice krispie treat bars. No problem, I've got butter, miniature marshmellows, and rice krispies....only they're all store brand, and the recipe isn't on the package. I thought I had it written down, but can't find it. Can someone send it to me QUICK? Please? I know how, just need to know how much butter, marshmellows, and how many cups of krispies...Thanks! Kathie

OK, here it goes! 13x9 pan sprayed with veg. spray or somewthing to keep them from sticking. 3 tbsp. margarine or butter, 10 oz. marshmallows, 6 cups rice cereal. Melt marg. and marshmallows, then stir in cereal. Spread into pan w/ srayed spatula or press into pan w/ waxed paper. All done!

Add some chocalate chips to melt with the marshmallows and it's even better!(if you like chocolate)

Ohhh!!! You just have to make these with the Cocoa Krispies! You can also add peanut butter to your marshmellows.

THANK YOU, Everyone.I dressed them up with some Christmas "sprinks" on top, so they look a little festive. For my family I do them with the peanut butter, chocolate, etc. My kids' favorite is when I make them with fruity pebbles. They taste great, but the colors kinda run together and they're ugly, but the kids don't care. Can't imagine how I lost that recipe, I've made them for over 30 years, must be getting senile...Thank you so much, I didn't want to send something else when I was on the list for them. Merry Christmas to you all! Kathie

A HUGE apology, everyone! Screwed up my e-mail address, I reversed my worldnet with my att on my other 2 posts. Vicki, thank you for pointing it out on the other thread, I would never had caught it, and gone on merrily giving the wrong address, and wondering why I never heard from anyone. I'm sorry. Kathie

Kathie, I couldn't help but laugh over your 30 year comment and about getting senile. You see, I just got this joke that kind of follows that line. Hope you get a smile from it.A police car pulled up in front of an older woman's house, and her husband climbed out. The polite policeman explained that "this elderly gentleman" said that he was lost in the park and couldn't find his way home. "How could it happen?" asked his wife. "You've been going to that park for over 30 years! How could you get lost?" Leaning close to her ear so that the policeman couldn't hear, he whispered, "I wasn't lost -- I was just too tired to walk home."

Cashews or almonds are nice too (use cashew or almond butter as well).
