Are you Prepared for Y2.001K ?greenspun.com : LUSENET : Poole's Roost II : One Thread |
During my Y2K testing at an nuclear plant I shall not name, I found several devices that had problems with the rollover...to 2001. These were PC based data acquistion units, and they could not handle the 2000 leap year rollover. I expect that there will be a few minor incidents around the world, maybe we will even see a report or two in the media. I am selling 2 hour rations (a pack of crackers) for $5. But hurry, have only a limited supply....;)

Keep laughing, fools. There are threats of rolling blackouts in CA and up and down the Mississippi because of the low water levels. Shut- downs have already started in the auto industry. Large fries at Mickey Dee's have increased $.03. There are hard times ahead, I tell you.

So, we're all gonna die? It can't be fixed? It's all going away?
Do you EVER give it up? What kind of a life do you have where you constantly worry about.....well.....EVERYTHING?
Sheesh.

I dunno, Trish. That thing about the MacDonald's fries going up by 3 cents is a pretty good indicator to me ...

Stephen and Flint are among the few who have excellent critical reading skills. Check out Decker's thread over at Unk's for a good laugh.

The economy is plummeting, the lights are going out and you can get hurracane lamps at the dollar store...for a dollar. Now is the time to stock up!
Is anyone aware that we now have a perminate space station this will be inhabited 24/7 from now on?
Ever since my teacher read me a science fiction childrens story when I was 7 (which caused me to start reading Dad's science fiction mag's and books) I have dreamed of living in space. It is too late for me now, probably, but it is a possibility for my children.
There is always the possibility of some weapon being built that could interfear with satalite communications or even electric power, so don't get rid of your Y2K supplies.
For all of you in freezing weather, I hope you have your Y2K supplies in case you loose power.
I hope those who were scared this time last year can enjoy the holiday in peace this year.
