Okay, I did as you said this morning. I changed the grind and yes that did help some. I wanted to mention that I used to put a ton of cream and sugar in my coffee. That was the only way I could drink the stuff. I used to drink coffee for the benefits of something that smelled good in the morning and would give my day a jump start. But I also had a hard time controlling my weight with all that cream and sugar. It fed on itself you know, pretty soon you need a few muffins to go with that coffee and a danish an hour or so later. You get the picture. So I now have learned to actually like the taste of coffee. I don't use cream or sugar anymore and I don't need that danish I talked about anymore and I'm 20 lbs. lighter than I used to be. How was that for a run on sentence. You are correct on the coffee maker brand, I did a typo I guess. As for that coffee maker, I agree price isn't everything. I have had better luck with the $20 cheapies. I was very surprised to hear that you saw one in a Target of all places. No offense to Target however, I like that store. So I will try your microwave test and see what happens. I am beginning to think it is the beans. It is a blend also. Called Holiday Blend. Came straight from brewedawakenings that you mentioned. That's why I had the curiosity about Anodyne roasters. Thank you so much for your reply. I will keep you posted. CA

Black coffee? Yech. A tad of creme or milk, just a dash of sugar. Non of that sissy flavored stuff though ;)

David:Let me suggest that you never travel to places like rural Montana, western North Dakota or much of Idaho. Go into a town diner and ask for cream or sugar in the coffee and you will be considered to be effeminate. You will be a natural target of harassment at best and attack at worst. And they use 3 yr old cans of non-name brand coffee fortified with sage bark. *<)))
Best wishes,,,,

>> [...] ask for cream or sugar in the coffee and you will be considered to be effeminate. <<Maybe Coreen doesn't mind being considered effeminate, Z. ;-)
(BTW, so much for the rugged individualism of the American West, if you can't even ask for sugar for your coffee without being harrassed or attacked. I can't think of a more gestapo-like strategy for imposing groupthink.)
