OK, we know there are a few people here who claim they are going to "boycott" the shows until George is gone... How many of you really don't care, and will watch Junkyard Wars regardless of the host, the music, or whatever else these guys are claiming now "sucks"? I personally liked the two new shows we saw this week. Even if you can't stand the changes, isn't it still better than anything else on TV?

It's a shame that people are being so childish and not giving George a chance. This is still one of the best shows on TV.

I am also with you on this one Rhonda. My family loves the show, even my 3 year old daughter! SHE is not as SHALLOW as some of these people who are complaining...she knows good T.V. when she sees it. We have also got alot of our extended family watching it now too. Go George!!! You have alot of people pulling for you. Don't let these cry babies get to you!

I tapped the show and was very glad I did. After all this WHINING I watched the full 2 hours again. Yep, George is a little shiny in the junkyard. But I'm stunned that anyone would not watch and want to cancel the whole entire show because of George. Oh that's just great ! Lose the ENTIRE SHOW because some Whining person was so short sighted. GREAT! Lets all follow that guy.

I'll continue to set the VCR, reschedule meetings and plant my hind- end in the easy chair to watch every week. I love seeing guys being guys. I love seeing women up their pits in grease and grunting. It appeals to me on a primal, humorous and intelligence level.... and I'm not afraid to admit it!

I just found this board, and I have to say, I love Junkyard Wars. I loved it with Robert Llewellyn, and I love it with George Grey. I couldn't help thinking when reading all the posts, "Are these people serious?" I see people threatening to BOYCOTT?! This would be a great show even with Al Gore hosting! (Yawn!) I will continue to watch Junkyard Wars no matter what! If you can't stand George, then hit the mute button when you see his face! Problem solved!

I talked to George some when we were filming the pumpkin launching show, and he is really a nice guy in person. We had a good time talking about his 1/4 mile racing hobby (he has a restored sixties Pontiac). I am not sure why he comes across the way he does on the show, but parts of it are scripted, like the little part with him loading the cannon and firing a blank. That shot misfired by the way, and landed a smoking half pound bag of cordite (high explosive) on our pumpkin shooter. The primer fired, and blew the cordite out of the barrell. There was one bag left in the barrell which finally caught fire after about thirty seconds, and there was a big flame coming out of the barrell for ten seconds or so. They had all of us back about 40 yards with ear plugs in but it sounded about like a 22 rifle going off inside a pipe. It was a funny moment that they missed having in the show, with all of us anticipating a big blast, then it just going pop/fizz, but I guess that they didn't want to embarress the military who so generously allow them access to their proving grounds. If George gets to do another season, I'm sure he will be more like he is in person, and hopefully someone clued the people in charge by the time the next shows were taped to let him relax and be real.

Absolutely! Thank goodness all of these rants have not changed TLC's decision to run the show. Besides, everyone that has complained so far still watches both episodes anyway, so their arguments become less meaningful. Why would they continue to watch something they "hate"? So boycott if you want, hopefully the rest of us will keep this show alive and running.

will someone call me when its on!??? i missed the 1/10/01 show! ....this back to back 3 day holidays has me all messed up!...and i missed it........dammit! thats what i`m whining about!..this would be a good show with margret thatcher as host!...its not about the hosts, its about the teamwork people! this show was supposed to have an intended audience target age group of 12- 14 year olds? and were not disappointing them now are we? grow up everyone... celebrity co-hosts by the likes of benny hill would be fun!

I think Marg Thatcher would be a very bad idea, but I do see your point. EXCELLENT SHOW, keep George in it too he is an excellent host. If not, I think a foreign exchange with JYW and Scrapheap Challenge hosts would be a good idea. Does anyone know how old George is anyway??
