Here's an old article that I came across that needs to be revisited. Considering how many areas are in water rationing, low resivours means the bottom crud gets sucked into the drinking water system.

While you're making the order get some extra filters, you will need to replace the filters at least every 6 months. The RO membrane should last for 2-3 years.

Reverse osmoosis is good. But there is another system that is portable. The Berkefield gravity water filter has been in use for 100 years by missionaries. It consists of a ceramic filter that removes 98% at .2 microns, 99.99% at .5 microns. The filter is cleanable and is good for 2,600-15,000 gallons depending on purity. It will do 24 gallons per day.
