Outages Narrowly Averted This Morning; Supplies Still Tight in Northern California

(Folsom, CA) Two teleconference calls will be held today by the California Independent System Operator (California ISO) to provide information updates regarding the state’s continuing Stage Three Emergency.

The supply situation in Northern California remains limited until generation units in the North State return this weekend. Conservation plays a large part in the efforts to “keep the lights on.” Californians are encouraged to continue those conservation efforts.

Tuesday’s Media Teleconference Updates TIMES (ALL PST): 10:30 a.m. 2:00 p.m. Media teleconferences will include an update regarding California ISO operations along with an opportunity for questions and answers. Today’s peak demand on the ISO-controlled Grid is expected to reach 31,854 megawatts at approximately 6:00 p.m.
