Yea Ed all LUSENET sites have been down. Maybe they corrected the problem while down.

Sent several E=mails to Greenspun. Everything popped back up. Probably just a coincidence but who knows. Usually they are very slow to respond.

This is the first I've been able to get into it since last night--tried a couple of times earlier today with no success. Kept getting an instant "Document contains no data."As an aside, yesterday neither my email software nor my browser would work, even though I could connect to the net through DSL easily, so I called my service provider to see if they were having server problems. The front line phone responder said they were indeed having problems and that I would need a new DSN number. I was put through to the technical staff, where I was given a new DSN and, after I'd exited and re-entered my connection, everything (except Greenspun) worked just fine again. I've not encountered this kind of problem before. Anyone else?

Two days ago when I tried to submit an "answer" to your site, it said it accepted it. Then I got email back saying it couldn't get delivered..uh..not exactly that wording. Noticed the return email address and it made me suspicious. Something like guyinacell@hightower ??? Suspicious enough, I deleted it out of my email fast.Sorry about your problems. Thought I'd mention this.

Reply from Webmaster concerning the last outage of GICCThis is a temporary problem, and has been alleviated: we were the subject of what was effectively a denial of service attack - though my opinion is that it was not intentional, but rather the result of a poorly configured monitoring tool setup of the part of one of our users.
The service should now be up and fully available.
