This is something I've noticed that is particular to forums. The more negative posts have a few things in common. First, they almost always wait until long after the initial thread is dead. Second, there are usually quite a few spelling/typo/capitalization errors in the post. Third, the person usually doesn’t identify himself or herself. Fourth, the post is often very short. Finally, what is said isn’t even remotely original in any sense. Sort of like they transcribing a book of platitudes.
I’m new to forums, but is this normal? What other things have you notice that are peculiar to the forum community?

You ever ask a question no one gives a crap about and feel completely embarrassed? Why can't I delete this? It taunts me every time I look at the forum.

Personally I think you've made a valid point, it seems to be fairly normal though.

O, this is my fault because I wasn't doing forum stuff in my entries the past few weeks and all. But this is something that I have noticed. I'm still getting posts on the swearing question, and that was months and months ago, and practically all of them are really weird and obnoxious!I think that people wander around Greenspun, not come in from my journal, and because they don't know me or anyone else posting, they feel free to be asses, like prank calling strangers. It really is odd.

i for one found your journal through the forum, so yeah, people do do that. i hope nothing i've posted has been particularly obnoxious though! ;-)

Thank You, Travis! I thought it was just me that felt that way.I always think I am the Thread Killer. i post, and then the thread dies, and I think there is something wrong with me and no one wants to tell me. Sometimes i sing a little song about it - sung to the tune of Pat Benatar's "Heartbreaker":
I'm a .....Thread killah, Thread Killah, Thread Killah Doncha mess around with me!

Actually, Nicole, I was thinking about the last few replies in this thread!
